A big thank you to the author of our chronicle,
Helmut Rascher
Honorary Member (member of the Koch-Club for more than 50 years)

…is a special work of art. Even from the outside, the “big, thick book” is extraordinary in its size, weight and splendor, with its handmade paper and sturdy leather binding with a gold medal.

The Munich artist Professor Blasius Spreng designed a large gold medal for the club’s then-president, Siegfried Schaber. Within a circle, it depicts the world of a chef with typical utensils, and the chef’s toque, which extends beyond the rim, symbolizes internationality and looking beyond the rim of the plate.

Our honorary member and fellow chef Helmut Rascher is the artist who has filled our “thick book” with the life of our club since 1956. He designed the content of our chronicle and, through his graphic design and calligraphic handwriting, turned it into a document of its time. Because of his unique achievement, the Munich City Archive has expressed interest in exhibiting our chronicle there in the future.

Dear Helmut, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, express our great appreciation, and hope you will remain well disposed toward us for a long time to come.
